George Mason Dominates Gardner-Webb in Convincing 15-4 Home Opener Victory

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason put together a commanding performance on both ends of the field, rolling past Gardner-Webb 15-4 on Friday night at George Mason Stadium.

From the opening draw, the Patriots (2-1) controlled possession and set the tone, out-shooting Gardner-Webb (0-2) 24-13 while winning the draw control battle 15-8. Dahlia Trippel led the charge for Mason with a game-high four goals and an assist, while Daniella Jimenez added three goals and three assists to fuel the Patriots' high-powered attack.

George Mason jumped out to a 5-2 lead after the first quarter behind a pair of goals from Trippel, and they never looked back. A five-goal second quarter, featuring strikes from Catherine Pollard, Kate Anders, and Trippel, helped the Patriots extend their advantage to 10-3 at halftime.

Gardner-Webb struggled to find offensive rhythm, held scoreless in the third quarter as Mason's defense tightened. The Patriots forced 15 turnovers and won key ground ball battles, led by Giselle Torain's five ground balls.

Pollard and Jimenez kept the Patriots' offense humming in the second half, with Pollard finishing with three goals and two assists. Anders contributed two goals, while Riley Ellis and Peyton Farley each added one.

Goalkeeper Regan Bestick recorded three saves in net for the Patriots, securing the her second victory. while Emma Anderson made four stops for Gardner-Webb.
