FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University rowing team will begin its 2025-26 season at the historic Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday in Cambridge, Mass.
The Patriot Varsity 8+ will make the trip to greater Boston to compete in arguably the country's most famous rowing event.
"The team is looking forward to having the opportunity to race at the Head of the Charles again this year," head coach
Joseph Richards said. "It's a real honor to get to represent George Mason at this race and to get to test ourselves against competitors from all around the world."
The Green & Gold will hit the water in the Club 8+ category. The head racing will begin at approximately 1:44 p.m.
Senior
June Johnson will serve as coxswain for the Patriots in Cambridge, with the stroke position being commanded by junior
Elene Meurmishvili. The boat also will feature senior

Kaitlyn Kutz at the bow.
Next up for the Patriots after Saturday's racing is complete, George Mason will row at the Head of the Schuykill on Oct. 25 in Philadelphia, Pa.
