Fairfax, Va.- George Mason leaves Blacksburg with many new personal bests and student-athletes moving up on the all-time list.
The meet began with
Alina Florou Dimitriadou taking the pole vault by storm and going over 4.15m to set a personal best, finished 1
st in the event, and to move up to 2
nd on the George Mason all-time list.
Kennedy Drish also put in the work on the 2
nd day of the Hokie Invitational by going over 4.12m in the pole vault event and to finish right behind Alina on the all-time list. Both student-athletes take over the number one and two spot of the A10 conference.
Walt Bannerman was back competing and he came back with a bang. The All-American recorded a new personal best in the pole vault by going over 5.33m and now has the 2
nd highest mark in George Mason history. A10 gold medalist,
Geni Roberts, reached a new personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 15.31m and introduced himself to the all-time list at spot number 10.
Arsalan Yaqubi also cemented his position in the weight throw with a new mark of 19.29m at the Hokie Invitational. He was the clear winner of his event.
Denver Shields reached a new personal best in the 60m with a time of 6.91.
Jalen Johnson in the same event qualified for the finals as well and placed 4
th overall.
Brody Myers also secured a new personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 4.78m.
Terrian Smith jumped 1.96m in the high jump to secure a new record for himself.
Aidan Walcott reached 6
th in the 400m at the Hokie Invitational with a time of 49.00, a new personal best for Aidan.
