FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason alum Logan Driscoll has been called up by the Tampa Bay Rays and is poised to make his Major League Baseball debut.
Driscoll becomes the seventh George Mason baseball product to get the call to Major League Baseball, joining Justin Bour,
Shawn Camp, Mike Colangelo, Mike Draper, Chris O'Grady and Chris Widger.
Bour made his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins (2014), Camp with the Kansas City Royals (2004), Colangelo with the Anaheim Angles (1999), Draper with the New York Mets (1993), O'Grady with the Miami Marlins (2017) and Widger with the Seattle Mariners (1995).

Driscoll, a native of Burke, Va., played three years for the Patriots (2017-19) primarily as a catcher. He became the highest draft pick in George Mason baseball history after being selected by the San Diego Padres with the 73rd overall pick in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
Widger, who was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 82nd overall pick in the 1992 MLB Draft, had been the program's highest-drafted player.
In 2023, Driscoll was promoted to the Durham Bulls (AAA) and hit .265 with two home runs, four doubles, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored in 20 games played in his first year at the Triple-A level. This season with the Bulls, he has played 70 games with a .292 batting average with seven home runs, 24 doubles, a triple, 37 RBI and 40 runs scored.
Over his two seasons at the Triple-A level, Driscoll has a .287 batting average with nine home runs, 28 doubles, 52 RBI and 53 runs scored over his 90 games played.
Driscoll started 145 of 146 games over his three years with the Green and Gold with a .337 batting average with 188 hits, 17 home runs, 35 doubles, six triples, 108 RBI and 114 runs scored.
Among George Mason all-time leaders, Driscoll ranks 12th in putouts (750), tied for 16th in OBP (.427), 17th in batting average (.337), tied for 26th in walks (74), 27th hits (188) and slugging percentage (.513), tied for 28th in total bases (286), 29th in runs scored (114), tied for 31st in home runs (17), tied for 32nd in doubles (35), 34th in RBI (108), tied for 35th in starts (145), 36th in at-bats (558) and 48th in games played (146).
Driscoll was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Rookie Team in 2017 and was selected First Team All-Conference catcher twice (2018, 2019).
His junior year, Driscoll was selected to the 2019 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division I East All-Region First Team. He was a two-time semifinalist for the Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award (2018, 2019).
In 2019, Driscoll started 32 of 47 games behind the plate and led the Patriots in average (.343), hits (58), triples (2), home runs (9), RBI (33), slugging percentage (.598), and on-base percentage (.462). He had at least one hit in 35 of 47 games, including 13 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games during the 2019 campaign.
Among A-10 leaders in 2019, Driscoll finished the regular season fourth in slugging percentage (.598), fifth in on-base percentage (.462), tied for seventh in home runs (9), ninth in batting average (.343), tied for 21st in both runs scored (37) and doubles (12), and tied for 23rd in hits (58).
In 2018, Driscoll started 38 of 49 games behind the plate for the Patriots, throwing out 19 of 36 (52.7percent) would-be base stealers. At the plate, he (70-for-191) led the Atlantic 10 in average (.366), tied for third in the league in hits (70), tied for 11th in the conference in doubles (13) and tied for 13th in the league in RBI (37). Driscoll had at least one hit in 40 of 48 games, including 21 multi-hit games.
During his time with the Patriots, Driscoll was also named Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Co-Player of the Year, was a two-time VaSID All-State First Team Catcher, 2019 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division I East All-Region First Team and 2018 All-ECAC Division I Baseball First Team selection.
