Connor Dykstra has signed as a free agent with the Seattle Mariners.
Dykstra, from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, played three years for the Patriots. He played 161 games with 159 starts, finished with a .290 career batting average with 154 hits, 37 doubles, 21 home runs, 112 RBI and 113 runs scored.
This past season, Dykstra started 50 of 51 games played and hit .283 with 12 doubles, six home runs, 31 RBI and 28 runs scored.
In 2023, Dykstra was selected A-10 First Team All-Conference catcher after setting career highs in hits (57), doubles (18), home runs (9), RBI (48) and runs scored (45). He helped the Patriots win the Atlantic 10 Baseball Tournament title for the second time in program history.
In the 2023 NCAA Wilson-Salem Regional, Dykstra was named Winston-Salem Regional All-Tournament catcher after going 4-for-15 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored over four games. He helped the Patriots win two games in a regional for the first time in school history.
On the Patriots all-time list, Dykstra is second in hit by pitch (69), tied for 23rd in home runs (21), tied for 25th in starts (159), tied for 27th in RBI (112), tied for 28th in doubles (37), 30th in runs scored (113), tied for 33rd in games played (161) and ranks 36th in hits (154).
Dykstra is the second George Mason baseball player to sign with the Seattle Mariners after playing at George Mason. Chris Widger was drafted by the Mariners in the third round of the 1992 MLB Draft.
