Fairfax, Va.- Walt Bannerman will be representing George Mason at the NCAA Championships held at Eugene, Oregon. The pole vault event is scheduled to begin at 8 pm EST on the first day of the meet on Wednesday, June 5^th. 
 
Walt will compete among the elite from the East and West region. Only the top 12 pole vaulters from each region qualified for the prestigious competition. Previously, Walt was in Lexington, Kentucky for regionals and it was a day that nobody will forget. The 5.22m mark was cleared for a new personal record, but Walt Bannerman wanted more. When the bar was raised to 5.32m, Walt was ready for the challenge. 5.32m was cleared and since he had the fewest failed attempts throughout the competition, he was among the elite 12 of pole vaulters in the East Region. His next challenge, the NCAA Championships. 
 
The meet will be live streamed on ESPN 2 and the pole vault event is set to begin at 8 pm EST.
