Myles Charley Joins George Mason as the Director of Athletic Annual Fund

Fairfax, Va. -- George Mason University Senior Associate AD, Director of Development Katie Pate announced today that Myles Charley has been named the department's Director of Athletics Annual Fund.
 
Charley comes to Fairfax from Tennessee State University in Nashville where he served in an equivalent role.
 
"I am so excited to welcome Myles to Mason Nation," said Pate. "We had an excellent pool of candidates, and Myles emerged as a front runner early during the process. His experiences align perfectly with our plans to revitalize the Patriot Club and grow the membership." 
 
A native of Hoover Alabama, Charley served as Director of Development at Tennessee State University. In two years at TSU, he played a significant role in the success of capital and alumni fundraising campaigns.
 
Charley spearheaded the 30 days of giving capital fundraising campaign raising $286,000 for the annual fund. He cultivated relationships with alumni raising more than $100,000 in alumni giving in consecutive years.
 
A former track and field standout at Troy University, Charley Co-created the Ed Temple Annual Scholarship Dinner recognizing the TSU storied track and field program for the men's and women's track and field program. 
 
Charley laid out the comprehensive marketing, social media, and website development strategic strategies for the Tennessee State Athletic Fund. He served as the key liaison for the athletics department, resulting in increased social media engagement on the Tiger athletic fund accounts by 700%, leading to a large boost in donor involvement.
 
Before Tennessee State, Charley spent four years at Vanderbilt as the assistant director of fan engagement and hospitality. He managed Vanderbilt's external affairs through relationship-building with donors, corporate sponsors, and athletic directors of other universities.
 
Charley graduated from Troy University in 2016 with a degree in hospitality, sport, and tourism management and his Master of Science in sports fitness management in 2018. He recently earned his Doctor of Education from Tennessee State University in 2024.
 
A standout track and field student athlete at Troy University, Charley competed in the long and triple jump events. He owns the school record in the triple jump, while he earned multiple all-Sun Belt Conference honors in the long jump. He was an NCAA Qualifier all four years as a Trojan.
