Fairfax, Va.- George Mason will have their stand out performers competing this weekend for the IC4A/ECAC Championships hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia. The Patriots competed in the A10 Championships last weekend and were unfortunate to not reclaim the title.
Last time out, George Mason competed in the A10 Outdoor Championships with the men's team finishing in second place and the women's team finishing in fourth. The men's team brought back five gold medals from
Joziah Johnson,
Arsalan Yaqubi,
Bobby Kestyn,
Geni Roberts, and
Walt Bannerman. The silver medals were won by
Jordynn Toliver,
Geni Roberts,
Jalen Johnson,
Colton Ocetnik, and the relay teams that consisted of
Mia Suero,
Noelle Foss,
Susan Adenitan,
Sierra Matheson,
Isaiah Carter,
Jarett Flaker,
Ashton King, and
Jalen Johnson. Bronze medals were also brought back by
Amber Askelson,
Bobby Kestyn,
Jarett Flaker,
Kelsey Sebwe, and
Albert Asare.
Bobby Kestyn was also named the Most Outstanding Field Performer and
Joziah Johnson was also noticed for his performance being named the Most Outstanding Rookie Performer of the championships.
The IC4A/ ECAC Championships will begin on Friday with one event being displayed. The IC4A hammer throw will begin at 4:30pm and the rest of the competition will be shown on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, March 11, the first event will be the ECAC hammer throw starting at 10:30 am. The final field event will be the ECAC javelin throw starting at 5 pm together with the ECAC pole vault and the IC4A high jump. The running events will begin at 1:45 pm with the 110 hurdle prelims if it is needed during that time. Sunday will be the final day of the meet and it will begin at 10 am with the ECAC discus and the final field event will be at 12:45 pm with the IC4A discus. The running events have a starting time of 11:05 am with the IC4A 4x100, relays and it will conclude with the ECAC 4x400m relays.
It will be another exciting weekend for the Patriots hosting an important track and field meet that many schools from different parts of the country are coming to Fairfax to be part of the competition.
