Fairfax, Va.- George Mason have concluded their final meet of the season before the NCAA Preliminary and Final rounds. Many athletes were looking to reach new personal bests in order to be among the top 48 in their event in the East Region to qualify for the upcoming NCAA rounds. The George Mason men's team ended up in second place with 77 points, only behind Navy who finished first with 133 points. The women's team placed in fifth with 52 points, Army was named the ECAC Champion.
Bobby Kestyn continues his dominance on the field after securing a first-place finish in the men's discus throw with a mark of 54.16m. Bobby became the second Patriot to be named a IC4A Champion after
Joseph Queen with the 800m run.
Kelsey Sebwe also had an immense performance in the triple jump achieving second place with a new personal best of 12.62m.
Jalen Johnson went through two rounds to qualify for the 100m finals today and he did no disappoint in the track. Jalen faced top competitors and finished in second place with a time of 10.60.
Calvin Meyer finished top of his heat in the 200m dash and his time was enough to secure the fifth spot with a new personal best of 21.56.
The Patriots will continue to compete in the NCAA Preliminary rounds which are scheduled to begin on May 22
nd at Lexington, Kentucky. The NCAA Final Round will be on June 5
th at Eugene, Oregon.
