Box Score FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's tennis team (7-9, 2-0) put together a 7-0 sweep of Shenandoah on Tuesday afternoon at the Mason Tennis Courts.
The win marks the third in a row for the Green & Gold.
In doubles, sophomore
Monil Lotlikar and junior
Niza Simunyola improved to 10-3 this season with a 6-3 win at No. 1. Junior
Jacco Arends paired with sophomore
Zavan Fahim for the first time this dual season and earned a clean 6-0 sweep at No. 2. And at No. 3, junior
Dustin Ha and graduate student
Momin Khan also made their dual debut and won 6-4.
In singles, Lotlikar won his third straight at the top spot with a straight sets (6-3, 6-3) triumph over Dominick Suwak. At No. 2, Arends improved to 4-0 in his recent completed matches with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jovan Cirkovic.
Simunyola won his match at No. 3, 6-4, 6-1, while Fahim made quick work of Keith Orr at No. 4 (7-5, 6-3). Elsewhere, senior
Hayden Postin won at No. 5 (6-2, 6-4), while
Rayan El khalifi made his dual debut at No. 6 and won, 6-3, 6-0, over Anton McCloskey.
The Patriots return to the friendly confines of the Mason Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon for a 2 p.m. battle with Hampton.
