PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The George Mason softball team (11-25, 3-8 A-10) lost both Saturday games to Saint Joseph's (15-17, 9-2) at the SJU Softball Field. After tying Game One at 3-3, the Hawks pulled ahead and won 8-3. In Game Two, Saint Joseph's shutout the Patriots 6-0.
PATRIOT HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE: GEORGE MASON 3, SAINT JOSEPH'S 8
The Hawks took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with a Sienna Fretz (2-2, R, 3 RBI, HR) three-run home run. However, Mason would quickly tie the game in the top of the third inning.
After Kaleigh Friend (0-2, R, BB) led off with a walk and Logan Pickford (1-3, R, 2B) doubled to right to put runners on second and third, Rachel Warrens (1-3, R, 2 RBI, 3B) hit a two run triple to right center. Warrens would subsequently be scored after Marlaina Bozek (1-3, RBI) hit an RBI single to tie the game.
The Hawks would retake the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a Riley York (2-2, 2 R, RBI, HR, BB) solo home run. The game would remain close until the Hawks broke it open with a four-run bottom of the sixth inning and maintain the 8-3 victory.
GAME TWO: GEORGE MASON 0, SAINT JOSEPH'S 6
In Game Two, the Patriots outhit the Hawks nine to eight, but Saint Joseph's consistently scored runs throughout the game. The Hawks scored one run in the second, third and sixth innings and scored three in the fourth.

Dara Sharpe (1-3) recorded her first collegiate hit in the top of the third inning with a single up the middle.
Three Patriots went 2-for-3.
Maddy Myers (2-3) hit two singles while both
Marlaina Bozek (2-3, 2B) and
Elyssa DeRosa (2-3, 2B) hit a single and a double.
Saint Joseph's Megan Sinkus (1-3, R, 2 RBI, HR) and Sierra Fretz (2-2, 2 RBI) both had a game-high two RBI game, while Lester Morgan (2-3, RBI) recorded an RBI. The other three runs scored were scored as unearned.
