Atlantic 10 Release
 
FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason junior Chad Gartland has been selected Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
 
Gartland, a native of Rochester, N.Y., struck out 11 batters with no walks in a 3-2 complete-game victory against VCU on Saturday, April 27 at Spuhler Field. 
 
Gartland recorded the third complete game of his career, while his 11 strikeouts were the second-most that he's posted in a game as a Patriot.  The right-hander threw 121 pitches, 88 for strikes, in the outing, the third-most pitches that he has thrown in a game in his NCAA career.  He recorded 11 strikeouts, six groundouts, six fly outs, two pop outs and one line out in the game.
