WASHINGTON, D.C. – George Mason women's lacrosse graduate student
Meghan Deehan was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Tuesday, announced by the league office.
Deehan is the third Patriot this season to earn an Atlantic 10 weekly award.
Shannon Tuozzo was named Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 26 and
Daniella Jimenez was named Rookie of the Week a week ago.
The Milton, Ga. native was stellar in cage this past weekend, playing all 60 minutes against rival George Washington en route to a 18-8 Atlantic 10 victory. Deehan posted 14 saves, a season-high and just one off of her career-high of 15. She allowed just eight goals for a .636 save percentage and added three ground balls and a caused turnover in the defensive effort.
Deehan and the Patriots return to the field on Saturday, April 6 for another conference matchup, this time on the road at Davidson.
