Meghan Deehan has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
The honor is the second this season for Deehan and the fourth overall for the Patriots, as the goalkeeper was also tabbed Co-Defensive Player of the Week on April 2. Classmate
Shannon Tuozzo earned a Co-Offensive Player of the Week nod on Feb. 26 and freshman
Daniella Jimenez go the Rookie of the Week nod on March 25.
Deehan anchored a strong defensive effort on Saturday in an important 13-10 victory for the Patriots, putting the team in position to earn a spot in the Atlantic 10 Tournament for the first time since 2019.
The Milton, Ga. native posted a career-high-matching 15 saves against the Bonnies, allowing just 10 goals for an impressive 60.0 save percentage. She also scooped up two ground balls in 60 minutes of action.
Deehan and the Patriots travel to La Salle this weekend for their final Atlantic 10 regular season road game. Opening draw with the Explorers is set for 1 p.m.
