Hilton Head, SC -- Mason concluded PTR SpringFest in Hilton Head splitting its final two matches to finish 2-2 during the annual spring break tournament.
The Patriots dropped a match to Tiffin University, a nationally ranked DII program, 4-0 on Thursday before a thrilling 4-3 win on Friday morning against St. Francis (PA).
St Francis opened the scoring by taking the doubles point with wins at #1 and #2. The Red Flash went up 2-0 by winning at #1 singles.
Mason closed to 2-2 with wins by
Cenan Liu and
Ruju Chauhan.
Mason pulled ahead when Maitree Rout won in straight sets.
For the second time this week
Brooklyn Siegel clinched the win by coming back from a set down to win in a 3rd set tiebreaker.
"I am very proud of the progress we have made this week. There is a big difference from our first match of the week to our last. Our goal is to get incrementally better each week."
