HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The George Mason University men's tennis team heads to South Carolina for its annual PTR Springfest competition this week.
 
The Patriots will play three matches in Hilton Head during the event. Mason opens with North Carolina Wesleyan on Tuesday at 9 a.m. From there, the Green & Gold match up with South Carolina State Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. before wrapping up the event Thursday vs. St. Francis (Pa.) at 9 a.m.
 
George Mason is coming off a couple tough battles against the state's top programs. That included a near upset of James Madison (3-4) on Feb. 17 and a setback at Virginia Tech on Feb. 18.
 
Mason has a pair of student-athletes with three singles wins over the early portion of the dual slate. That includes sophomore Monil Lotlikar, who has won three of his last four at No. 1, and junior Niza Simunyola, who is 3-2 at the No. 3 spot.
 
The dynamic duo also has combined to go 3-2 in dual doubles so far this dual slate.
 
After the PTR Springfest, the Patriots return home for their first outdoor home match of the season. Mason will battle Delaware on March 15 at 11 a.m.
