MERION STATION, Pa. – The Mason women split their two Atlantic 10 matches In Philadelphia this weekend.
 
The Patriots battled St. Joseph's and the windy conditions and fell 4-1 to the host Hawks at the SJU Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon. On Saturday the Patriots rebounded and defeated St. Bonaventure 4-2.
 
The Hawks swept the three doubles matches to win the first point of the match, followed by a win at No. 1 singles.
 
Mason got on the board with a win in the third singles spot. Freshman Cenan Liu defeated Sophia Amato, 6-2, 6-1.
 
The Hawks Kordonowy clinched the victory with a 7-5, 7-5 result in the fourth position against Mason's Maitree Rout.
 
The Patriots Ruju Chauhan was winning in her match against Tort-Umpierre at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 3-2 before the Hawks clinched the final point.
 
"This was a truly gutsy performance today," said Head Coach Steve Curtis. "Our hard work is paying off and it showed on the court.bI am very proud of this team coming out after a tough loss against Saint Joe's. Today we played Mason tennis."
 
In the win against St. Bonaventure, the Bonnies took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 matches.
 
Liu made the score 1-1 with at 6-3, 6-2 win at #3 singles. The Bonnie's pulled ahead 2-1 with a win at #2 singles.
 
The Patriots top singles player Emily Wirt tied the match with a three-set win in singles action. The senior came back from a set down the win in the third set.
 
The Patriots took the lead 3-2 when Lauren Splett defeated Smith, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Maitree Rout secured the team win as she battled from a set down to win in the third set.
