Fairfax, Va.- The Patriots have competed fiercely at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State and have come out with positive results. New personal bests were achieved and many new additions to the All-Time list.
Wesley Bond made GMU history by overcoming the previous school record for the 10,000m run by an outstanding 24 seconds.
The meet began on Thursday with
Mason Love breaking his previous personal best in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:09.37. Mason goes up the All-Time list to occupy the sixth spot for the men's 5,000m run.
Wesley Bond not only recorded a new school record, he did it comfortably beating
Jack Ikenberry's record by 24 seconds. The new school record written by
Wesley Bond for the 10,000m run is now at 29:12.18.
Walt Bannerman had the first noticeable performance on Friday in the pole vault achieving a new personal best by going over 5.10m and placing sixth in the All-Time list.
Sierra Matheson recorded a new personal best in the women's 100m dash with a time of 12.26 seconds.
Arsalan Yaqubi continues to improve his personal record in the hammer throw and has taken the fourth spot in the All-Time list with a new mark of 58.05m.
Amber Askelson finished in 2
nd in the pole vault with a mark of 3.75m.
Michka-Mae Hyde also entered her name in the record books for the women's 8000m run. Michka achieved the seventh spot with a time of 2:09.57. Joziah Jones recorded a new personal best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.76.
Albert Asare finished in front of him with a time of 53.50.
