Fairfax,Va.- George Mason will be traveling back to North Carolina to compete at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State. Many schools including Virginia, Ohio, and Duke will be competing head-to-head with our athletes from Mason.
Last time out, Mason competed in the Bob Davidson Team Challenge where many of our athletes came out with positive remarks. Two of the Patriots were recognized by the A10 Conference being named Performers of the Week.
Bobby Kestyn was the Field Performer of the Week after breaking a school record in men's discus throwing a program-record distance of 54.11m. The throw is currently ranked at 23
rd in the NCAA East Region.
Paul McClain was also named the Track Performer of the Week after finishing in first in the 800m run and completing it with a time of 1:52.36.
The Raleigh Relays will begin on Thursday, March 28
th and conclude on Saturday, March 30
th. The meet will begin at 9:30 am on Thursday with the men's javelin throw and it will end at 10:35 pm with the men's 10,000m run. Friday will begin at 9:45 am with the women's discus throw and the day will end at 10:35 pm with the women's 10,000m run. The running events on Friday start at 12:40 pm with the women's 100m hurdles. On the final day of the meet, the hammer throw will start at 9:30 am followed by the women's pole vault. There will be 10 more running event occurring on Saturday with the first one being the 4x100m starting at 1:00 pm. The Raleigh Relays will conclude at 5:35 pm with the men's 4x400m run.
