WASHINGTON, D.C. – George Mason women's lacrosse freshman Daniella Jimenez was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career on Monday, announced by the league office.
 
Jimenez is the first Patriot to earn the Rookie of the Week award since 2019, and the second Patriot this season to earn an Atlantic 10 weekly award. Shannon Tuozzo was named Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 26.
 
The rookie out of Woodbridge, Va. scored six goals on eight shots last week for a stellar .750 shooting percentage against A-10 opponents. Against nationally-ranked Richmond on Wednesday, Jimenez led Mason with a career-high four goals on six shots as the Patriots fell in overtime.
 
In Mason's first Atlantic 10 victory of the season on the road at Duquesne, Jimenez scored two goals on two shots en route to a 16-9 victory.
 
Jimenez and the Patriots return to the field on Saturday, March 30 for a rivalry matchup with George Washington.
