Fairfax, Va.- The A10 have awarded two Patriots as the Performer of the Week.
Amber Askelson and
Albert Asare earned the award for their performances last weekend at the UCF Black and Gold meet.
Amber Askelson was chosen as the Women's Field Performer of the Week.
Amber Askelson has been dominating the pole vault since the indoor season, and she began the outdoor season with her first A10 weekly award. Amber is the reigning gold medalist from the A10 Indoor Championships held on February 23
rd, 2024. Amber placed fifth in pole vault going over 3.80m at the UCF Gold and Black Invite
Albert Asare was named the Track Performer of the Week, his second A10 weekly award this year. Albert has won Rookie of the Week four times last year and he is continuing those performances by gaining his second A10 Performer of the Week this year. Albert placed in fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.41. Asare also competed in the men's 110m hurdles where he finished tenth with a time of 14.57.
They will be back in action tomorrow for the Bob Davidson Team Challenge held by High Point University. The Patriots will begin their meet at 11am with the women's heptathlon.
