Fairfax, Va.- George Mason split their squad to travel to two different meets. The Black and Gold Invite was a two-day event hosted by UCF and the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational was a one-day event hosted by William and Mary.
Geni Roberts continues his good form and jumped a distance of 14.93m to finish in third in the triple jump.
Amber Askelson had a fifth-place finish in pole vault going over 3.80m.
Walt Bannerman keeps on writing history adding his name onto the Outdoor Records List securing the 7
th spot in pole vault going over 4.98m.
Arsalan Yaqubi placed 7
th in the javelin throw, throwing for a distance of 58.31m.
Another part of the team traveled down to William and Mary to compete against eight other schools including A10 Conference rival, VCU.
Dylan Raney started off the day finishing in 2
nd for the 2000m steeplechase with a time of 6:09.84.
Charlie Blundell finished in third with
Kai Muniz behind him placing in fourth. It was a George Mason sweep in the 1500m run with
Alex Lombardo finishing in first,
Alex DeRoussel finishing in second, and
Caleb Hymans placing in third.
Stephanie Dundas achieved a second-place finish in the women's 100m hurdles race with a time of 15.35.
Dean Johnson stayed on top for the men's 110m hurdles finishing in first with a time of 15.18.
Sierra Matheson also secured a first place finished in the women's 100m dash with a time of 12.44. In the men's 800m run, George Mason had two athletes finishing in first and second.
Cameron Stearns finished in first with a time of 1:54.84 and
Nathan Polizzi took the second spot with a time of 1:55.28.
Joziah Johnson also achieved a first-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 54.61 and
Ryan Brooks ran a 55.04 to finish in third place.
The freshman
Michael Baker III finished in third for the hammer throw going a distance of 44.59m. McKenzie Banks finished in second place in the women's 200m dash finishing the race in 25.84 seconds. There were two Mason athletes who finished in the top three positions for the men's 3000m run. Nicholas Emmert lead the pack finishing in first with a time of 8:21.91 and
Wesley Bond placed in third place with a time of 8:22.73
For the women's 4x400m relay, George Mason ended in second finishing the race in 4:05.05 thanks to
Brenna Elchenko, McKenzie Banks,
Stephanie Dundas, and
Sierra Matheson. The meet concluded positively for the Patriots, grabbing first place in the men's 4x400m relay.
Ryan Brooks, Johnson,
Calvin Meyer, and
Nathan Polizzi competed for the 4x400m relay and finished with a time of 3:16.47.
