Mason Complete Both Meets In Massachusetts

Fairfax, Va.- The Patriots have completed their participation at the Harvard Elite and at the Scarlet and White Invitational this weekend. They are now three weeks away for the A-10 Indoor Championships that will be held at Virginia Beach on February 23rd and 24th.

Crimson Elite Invitational:

George Mason competed with the top schools which included those in the Ivy League. Aidan Walcott achieved a personal best at the high jump, clearing over 2.03 and finishing in fourth place. Geni Roberts placed in third for the triple jump getting a mark of 14.82 and Henrike Fiedler placed seventh in the long jump reaching a mark of 5.63. Arsalan Yaqubi used all his power to achieve a new personal best and also moved up one spot in the all-time list for the weight throw. Yaqubi threw for 18.53 and moved up to third in the all-time records for weight throw.

Scarlet and White Invitational:

The next day on February 3rd, athletes made the trip from Harvard to Boston University to compete again and to improve their records. Colton Ocetnik placed in second going over 4.70m with Brody Myers finishing in fifth going over 4.55m. Terrian Smith competed in the high jump and finished in fourth place jumping over 2.01m. Kristen Alleyne was prepared for the women's triple jump and earned the sixth spot jumping a distance of 11.85m. 

Mason Love was once again looking for a new spot in the all-time records and was able to achieve that in the 3000m. Mason reached a personal best with a time of 8:16.96 moving him up one spot to become sixth fastest in GMU's history of the 3000m run. Kate O'Neill also achieved a personal best in the 5000m run finishing in third place with a time of 16:58.17 and putting her onto the all-time list in spot #8. In the 4x400m relay, George Mason achieved the third spot with a time of 3:12.7. The team included Paul McClain, Isaiah Carter, Micah Harris, and Jarett Flaker

Next Up:

George Mason will be traveling to Lynchburg, Va. for the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty. It will be a two day event on February 9th and the 10th.
