Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The George Mason University men's tennis team road doubles momentum into a solid singles performance during a 5-2 victory over Mary Washington Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg.
 
Mason (1-3) won matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles against the Eagles (0-1). Sophomore Monil Lotlikar and junior Niza Simunyola picked up an 8-4 victory at the top spot, while junior Jacco Adrends and graduate student Momin Khan claimed an 8-5 win at No. 2.
 
In singles, Lotlikar earned his second point of the day with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 over Rishi Charan Shankar.
 
The Patriots also claimed victories at the second, third and fourth singles positions.
 
At No. 2, Arends improved to 3-1 in dual singles action this season while making quick work of Artis Hart, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Simunyola went the distance at No. 3 to grab a gritty win over Brock Ladehoff. After falling in the first set, 2-6, he won the next two by identical scores of 6-4, 6-4.
 
At No. 4, Khan also moved to 3-1 in dual singles play with a straight sets win against Trevor Rein (6-3, 6-4).
 
The Patriots return to action next Saturday with a 6:45 p.m. contest vs. Loyola (Md.) at the Burke Racquet & Swim Club.
