FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse team will look to continue its' historic start when it travels to Gardner-Webb for a Sunday matinee.
The meeting will mark the first in program history for the Patriots and the Bulldogs.
The last time out, Mason set a new program-best mark with its' fourth-straight win to open the season with a 20-6 victory over Howard. On the other hand, Gardner-Webb has lost its' opening three games, most recently dropping a high-scoring contest to Kennesaw State, 28-17, on Wednesday.

- After a season-high performance against Howard, Shannon Tuozzo continues to lead the Patriots with 16 points on a team-high 14 goals with two assists. The midfielder's 3.5 goals per game rank third in the Atlantic 10
- Chloe Reed is the second Patriot with a double-digit goal total with 10 after another hat trick against Howard
- Defensively, Ciara Curtis leads the Patriots with six caused turnovers and six ground balls
- At the draw circle, Lauren Distad leads the team with 22 draw wins after a career-high 13 on Thursday. Her 6.67 per game rank fourth in the conference
- In goal, Meghan Deehan is allowing just 7.85 goals against per contest with a .364 save percentage
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
On offense, GWU is led by Rebecca Ferrina and Brittany Sherrod, who have tallied a team-high seven points each. Ferrina leads the team with seven goals while Sherrod is second with six goals with an assist. Pacing the offense is Lillian Martindale who has dished out a team-best five assists.
Defensively, Emma Dichescherer leads Gardner-Webb with 12 draw controls on the season. Taylor Tobin leads the Bulldogs with five ground balls while Abby Consaul has caused three turnovers. In net, Emma Anderson has started the last two games, making 13 saves with a .361 save percentage.
