FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse team will open the road portion of the 2024 season on Saturday when it travels to Kent State to take on the Golden Flashes.
The meeting will mark the first in program history for the two teams.
Mason opened the season with two straight wins over William & Mary (11-10) and Radford (16-8). On the other hand, Kent State opened the season with a 17-6 loss at Ohio State.

- Shannon Tuozzo and Chloe Reed each lead the Patriots with five goals each, with Morgan Gunn and Dahlia Trippel just behind them with four
- Kate Elam (3) and Gunn (2) are the two Patriots with multiple assists on the season
- Tuozzo also leads Mason with 12 draw controls
- On the defensive end, Ciara Curtis leads the Patriots with five caused turnovers and four ground balls on the year
- In net, Meghan Deehan has played all 124 minutes for the Patriots, accumulating 10 saves and a .357 save percentage
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Kent State was picked to finish first in the Mid-American Conference prior to the start of the season after winning the 2023 Regular Season crown for the first time in program history.
Zayda Crumpton was the lone Golden Flash to score multiple goals in their season opener, putting two in the back of the net. The sophomore also grabbed two draw controls. She led the team with 77 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers a season ago.
Returning for Kent State is Jackie Wolford, who tallied a goal against Ohio State and scored a team-high 69 goals and 82 points, adding 13 assists, last season.
