FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason wrestling team is ready for a challenging 2024-25 season, its sixth in the Mid-American Conference.
The schedule includes 13 duals, with Mason hosting eight matches in Fairfax.
"We are excited about the opportunities to showcase our program on campus with so many home matches," said Head Coach
Frank Beasley. "National Duals will be an outstanding event and we will see some very high-level competition and many ranked programs at the tournament. We look forward to testing ourselves."
George Mason will open the season competing at the Citadel Invite on Sunday Nov. 3 in South Carolina. The Patriots will compete against wrestlers from Appalachian State, Duke, NC State, Air Force, and the Citadel.
The annual Mason Duals are slated for Nov. 9. Mason will face conference foe Bloomsburg, Millersville, and Williams College at the Recreation Athletic Complex (RAC).
The Patriots will wrap up November on the road for three conference duals against Edinboro (Nov. 15), Clarion (Nov. 17), and Southern Illinois- Edwardsville (Nov. 24).
Except for the annual trek to participate in the Midlands Championship at the end of the month, the Patriots will be in Fairfax in December. The Green and Gold will host Buffalo from the MAC on December 6 on campus. The weekend will end with A Better Way Athletics Open on Dec. 8. After a break for finals, the team will host Gardner Webb on December 19.
The Patriots will be away for most of January, beginning at the NWCA National Duals, hosted by Northern Iowa, the weekend of January 10-11. The team will knock out two MAC matches, away at Cleveland State (Jan. 18) and home to Lock Haven on Jan. 26 for Military Appreciation Day.
The Green and Gold will travel to Rider (Feb. 1) to begin February, but will host Brown (Feb. 9) on Youth Day, and the team will honor its seniors in the final dual against American (Feb. 17). The A Better Way Athletics Last Chance Open is scheduled for Feb. 23.
