FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University rowing team continues its fall season this weekend on Saturday at the annual Head of the Schuykill in Philadelphia, Pa.
"Head of the Schuylkill is one of the classic fall regattas," head coach
Joseph Richards said. "The team is really looking forward to being a part of it. The competition will be very tough. We've made some improvements from last week and we're excited to show it on the water."
The Patriots will race two eight boats and three fours at the event, which features A-10 foes Fordham, La Salle and Saint Joseph's, in addition to strong regional competition. Those schools include Temple, Penn, Lafayette and more.
The schedule is as follows:
10:40 a.m. – Three four boats
12:05 p.m. – Novice 8+
2 p.m. – 2V8+
3:50 p.m. – V8+
The Patriots are coming off a solid start to their season on Oct. 19 at the Yinzer Cup. After this weekend's regatta, the Green & Gold wrap up their fall slate at the Head of the Occoquan November 2 in Fairfax Station.
