Fairfax, Va. – After carding the second-best final round for the second consecutive tournament, the George Mason golf team placed second at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational held at Mystic Rock Golf Course in Farmington, PA, posting a 14-over-par three-round team score.
The last time the Patriots earned runner-up honors was last season at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, VA on March 26, 2024.
The host West Virginia took home first place with a two-over-par final score after leading the event from start to finish. Seton Hall rounded out the top three, finishing at 18-over-par at the par 72, 7,526-yard course.
Junior
Logan Paczewski finished T4 overall in the standings, posting even-par, one-over and two-under par rounds.
Junior
Samir Davidov bounced back after an opening-round 76 with a three-under final round, tied for the best in the field. Davidov finished T8.
Freshman
Vaughn McMeans posted another solid showing, finishing T20. Fellow Freshman David Fuhrer finished his tournament with a strong even-par round, finishing T44.
Sophomore JJ Powell continued his consistent play, finishing T25 overall.

Mason will head to Westfield, New Jersey to compete in the Georgetown Intercollegiate, taking place from October 14-15.
