The Patriots battled in their dual season-opening match in Burke on Saturday night before falling to Georgetown, 4-2.
Mason won a pair of singles matches to highlight the evening.
Junior
Niza Simunyola picked up a victory at No. 3 singles to lead the charge. Simunyola knocked off the Hoyas' Kieran Foster in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
At No. 4, graduate student
Momin Khan also picked up a win. He knocked off Sahil Morey in a marathon match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The Patriots traveled to Lynchburg on Sunday for a 5 p.m. match. The Patriots picked up one point in the match, courtesy of
Jacco Arends. He took down Liberty's Matija Samardzic in three sets. After winning the first, 6-4, he fell in the second, 6-2. But Arends rebounded to take set three, 6-2.
