FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's swimming and diving teams face James Madison and Fairfield on Saturday at the Savage Natatorium in Harrisonburg, Va.

Diving is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and swimming is slated to start at 1 p.m.Â

The Patriots women's team will face James Madison and Fairfield in a tri-meet, while the Patriots' men's team will compete in a dual meet against Stags.

Last time out, both the Mason women's and men's teams placed third at the Patriot Invitational Nov. 16-18 at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Freshman
Alex Crown was named Atlantic 10 Men's Rookie Performer of the Week after he recorded three individual top-five performances in the meet.

Crown touched the wall third in the 500-yard freestyle (4:29.21), placed fourth in the 400-yard IM (3:57.20) and was fifth in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:56.47). He also was a member of the winning 800-yard freestyle relay (6:37.09).

The Mason women's team has a dual record of 2-3 while the men's team has a dual mark of 2-1 on the season.

The Fairfield women's team has an overall dual meet record of 4-0 this season while the men's team has a record of 3-1.

Last time out, the Stags men's and women's teams fell to Hawaii on Jan. 2 in Honolulu.

Fairfield swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards last week. Junior Joseph Stewart and freshman Tone Sandsjo earned swimmer of the week. Freshmen Lia Oppenheim and Dillon O'Connor were each named diver of the week for their performances in the last meet at the University of Hawaii.

The James Madison women's team has a dual meet record of 1-2 this season.Â

The Dukes fell to Liberty on Oct. 13 (162-138) and East Carolina on Oct. 28 (181.5-118.5). James Madison defeated Marshall on Nov. 4 (167.5-132.5).

Senior Lexi Lehman was named Sun Belt diver of the week after winning both the diving events at Florida Atlantic on Jan. 4 in Boca Raton, Fla.
