SPARKS, Md. — George Mason women's lacrosse assistant coach Riley Ewing has been named to the inaugural U.S. Women's Box Training Team by head coach Ginny Capicchioni.

Capicchioni and her staff have named 48 players to the 2024 U.S. Women's Box Training Team following a series of three player ID camps held from May through August.

Ewing graduated with her bachelor's degree from Ohio State in 2021 and with her master's in 2022 following a five-year career with the Buckeyes. Ewing was a three-year starter and a three-time Big Ten Academic Honor Roll honoree and finished her career ranking seventh all-time in Buckeye history with 119 draw control wins to her name. She also sits at fifth all-time for draw controls in a single season with 71 in 2019, with a career-high 10 draw controls in a single game.

"I am thankful for the privilege to be able to represent my country, my alma mater, and Mason Nation as a member of the US National Women's Box training team," said Ewing. "It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to be apart of the inaugural team, and I am thrilled to be able to continue to play the game I love alongside some of the most talented players in the sport."

The team will participate in three training camps this fall as it continues preparation for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica. N.Y. This is the first time that World Lacrosse has hosted a women's championship in box lacrosse.

The U.S. women's box team training camps will all be held at St. Luke's Sport Center in Whitehall, Pa., on the weekends of Nov. 4-5, Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 16-17.
