Fairfax- George Mason Women's and Men's cross-country teams will be competing in the CNU Cross Country Invitational tomorrow, September 15th at 5 pm. It is a new challenge for George Mason, this being the first time that they will be attending the CNU Invitational. 

After a strong performance at the Richmond Spider Alumni Open, George Mason will be looking to improve their performances to achieve the top spots of the race. Mason Love finished 9th with a time of 18:10.0 at the Richmond Open only behind the powerhouses of UVA and Georgetown. Wesley Bond is also eyeing to improve his time (18:10.7) after crossing the finish line right behind Mason Love.

Kate O'Neill is looking forward to reaching the top 10 spots in the CNU Invitational. She achieved 14th in the Richmond Open with a time of 14:06.7. 

"The focus this weekend is going to be largely internal" said Coach Gerard. "On refining some of our racing strategies, making adjustments after we analyzed the last outing and continuing our physical progress now over the full race distances.  In looking back and digesting the Richmond race, as with any season opener, some things went well and some we need to continue to work on so the keys this time will be refining our opening positioning, finding, packing and cementing connections with team mates through the middle of the race and closing out better.  We haven't attended this meet before but we think it should be a good set-up to allow us to focus on what we need to do moving into much more challenging meets over the coming weeks."

George Mason will be at Lee Hall Mansion, Newport News, VA for the CNU Cross Country Invitational with a 5pm start, tomorrow September 15th
