Women’s Lacrosse to Welcome 11 Student-Athletes to Fairfax

FAIRFAX, Va. – A class of 11, including 8 freshmen and three transfers, will join the 2023-24 George Mason lacrosse roster in the fall, head coach Kara Mupo announced.
 
Our program is excited to officially welcome the incoming class of 2023!" said Mupo. "This class will bring a high level of talent as well as a steadfast commitment to the vision we have for the future of Mason lacrosse on the field, in the classroom and amongst the community. The future is bright!"
 
The incoming class represents seven states from all sides of the country with at least one player at each position.
 
Tori Bates | Goalie
A four-year starting goalie at Forest Hills Central High School, the Grand Rapids, Mich. native will join Mason after setting multiple records at the school, conference and state levels. In the classroom, Bates was a four-time Academic All-State honoree and a three-year member of National Honor Society. On the field, she was a three-time All-Conference honoree and a two-time All-State honoree, including a second-team nod as a senior. She holds the MHSAA record for total saves in a season and saves in a single game. Bates is also a member of the Israel U-21 National Team.
 
Regan Bestick | Goalie | Saint Joseph's
A local product out of Fredericksburg, Va., Bestick graduated from Chancellor after excelling as a multi-sport athlete and in the classroom. Along with lacrosse, she played field hockey, softball and basketball, earning First Team All-State honors, twice First Team All-Area, a three-time First Team All-Region and All-District selection as a field hockey goalie. She also earned All-District First Team honors on the diamond. During her freshman year at Saint Joseph's, the goalkeeper appeared in three Atlantic 10 contests, making one save in each. In the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals, she made a save against St. Bonaventure and in the regular season against George Mason, she scooped up two ground balls.
 
Madison Cabrera | Attack
A Fairfax native, Cabrera graduated from nearby Lake Braddock High School. In the classroom, she was a National Honor Society member, was named to the Honor Roll and earned the Academic Letter Award twice. She played on the varsity team at Lake Braddock as an attacker and played club for the Mid-Atlantic Yellow Jackets.
 
Riley Ellis | Midfield | Lehigh
A graduate of East Chapel High School in Chapel Hill, N.C., Ellis was named an All-American her senior year in 2022. She was also a two-time All-State honoree and a four-time All-Conference honoree in her four-year career on the varsity squad. A three-sport athlete also starring in volleyball and basketball, Ellis was a captain of all three sports her senior year. As a midfielder at Lehigh, she appeared in 12 games, making four starts in her rookie season. Ellis scored one goal, dished out one assist and scooped up three ground balls.
 
Margaret Harmon | Defense
Harmon will come to Mason after a successful high school career at Boca Raton Community High School. The Boca Raton, Fla. native won two 2A Florida High School conference, sectional and regional championships, and was a member of the 2021 State Championship team. After multiple awards at all levels, she closed out her career with First Team honors in All-District, All-County and All-Region. She was also the 2A Defensive Player of the Year and was a team captain her senior year. Outside of high school, Harmon was named to the 2021 Florida America Select team and 2020 Under Armor 150.
 
Maya Jaeger | Defense/Midfield
Hailing from the west coast, Jaeger joins the Patriots from El Segundo High School. The El Segundo, Calif. Native is a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team and was a member of the varsity surf team. A two-time team captain, she was named the MVP of her high school team in 2023. She was also most recently named to the American Select California 2023 team. 
 
Daniella Jimenez | Attack
A Virginia product out of Woodbridge, Jimenez has set multiple records at Colgan High School and inked her name in the VHSL record book multiple times. She was honored with First Team All-District and All-Region honors in 2022 and 2023, while earning District Player of the Year and Second Team All-State honors as a senior. Jimenez has also garnered numerous select team honors in Virginia, including WPLL Futures, Under Armor 150, American Select VA-DC, the All-American Highlight DC Team and the Nation United National Team. In the classroom, she was a member of the National Honor Society.
 
Isabella Kellogg | Midfield
Hailing from West Linn, Oregon, Kellogg will join the Patriots after a successful high school career at IMG Academy and Oregon Episcopal School. The midfielder earned letters in both varsity soccer and lacrosse and was a team captain and was also named an honorable mention and first team All-State honoree during her career. Outside of high school, Kellogg played club lacrosse for 3D Oregon.
 
Laura Mason | Defender
A native of New Albany, Ohio, Mason is a graduate of New Albany High School. The defender is a three-year letter winner in lacrosse while earning two letters in varsity field hockey. She was a First Team All-Ohio honoree and was a member of the 2022 Ohio State Championship team. In the classroom, she boasts four nods on the Academic All-Ohio team in her career. Mason also played club lacrosse for Impact.
 
Emma Palmer | Attack
Palmer will join the Patriots after graduating from Hudson High School in Ohio. A native of Hudson, Ohio, the attacker has been a member of the varsity lacrosse team for four years, garnering multiple All-Region and All-Conference honors. Her senior year, Palmer was a team captain, an All-American and earned the 2023 Region Player of the Year award. Off the field, she was a National Honor Society member and a three-time All-Conference Scholar Athlete. She is also a member of the US Lacrosse Ohio National Team and has been named to WPLL Futures and Athletes Unlimited futures teams.  
 
Dahlia Trippel | Defender | Frostburg State
Another local product out of Ashburn, Va., Trippel graduated from Briar Woods with four varsity letters in lacrosse and three in cross country/track and field. She earned three All-District nods, including a first team honor in 2022. She also was named to the All-Region and All-State First Teams in the same year. During her freshman year at Division II Frostburg State, Trippel appeared in all 19 games with 11 starts and was fifth on the team with 24 goals. She was also second on the team with 33 draw controls, fourth with 23 ground balls and also contributed 13 caused turnovers and nine assists.
