FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's swimming and diving program has been selected as a Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).Â

Teams were selected based on their spring 2023 team grade point averages. The Patriots posted a 3.48 GPA and were one of nine Atlantic 10 Conference teams to earn the honor.

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected 718 teams and 17,497 student athletes to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2023 semester.

Jacquee Clabeaux, a public health major, and
Ali Tyler, a forensic science major, were each selected Second Team Scholar All-America.

To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their respective national championship. Â Second-Team selections also earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher and met the "B" time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.

Clabeaux won seven medals at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships with two individual Atlantic 10 titles and a silver medal and three relay medals (2 gold, 2 silver). She won the A-10 championship in the 100-yard breaststroke for the second straight year with a new meet record time of 59.81 and claimed the A-10 title in the 200-yard breaststroke with a new meet record time of 2:11.27.

Clabeaux was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team and Virginia Sports Information Director's (VaSID) Second Team All-State in the breaststroke. She was the recipient of the OrthoVirginia Student Achiever Award recognizing student-athletes who perform exceptionally in both the classroom and in the community.

Tyler won seven medals at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships with three individual A-10 championships and three relay medals (2 gold, 2 silver). She won the A-10 championship in the 100-yard backstroke for the second straight year with a time of 53.12, claimed the A-10 title in the 200-yard backstroke for the second straight year with a time of 1:55.79 and won the gold in the 50-yard freestyle for the second straight year with a time of 22.77.

Tyler recorded 27 top-three performances during the season, with 20 individual first place finishes.
