FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason lacrosse head coach Kara Mupo has announced that a transfer with ties to the program will join the roster in the 2023-24 school year.
 
The twin sister of freshman Kaitlyn Bestick, Regan Bestick will join the Patriots from familiar Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph's after playing her rookie season as a Hawk in goal.
 
A local product out of Fredericksburg, Va., Bestick graduated from Chancellor after excelling as a multi-sport athlete and in the classroom. Along with lacrosse, Bestick played field hockey, softball and basketball, earning First Team All-State honors, twice First Team All-Area, a three-time First Team All-Region and All-District selection as a field hockey goalie. She also earned All-District First Team honors on the diamond. 
 
Outside of high school athletics, Bestick was also Team Virginia member of the 2021 Athletes Unlimited Futures and the 2021 US Lacrosse National Tournament.
 
During her freshman year at Saint Joseph's, the goalkeeper appeared in three Atlantic 10 contests, making one save in each. In the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals, she made a save against St. Bonaventure and in the regular season against George Mason, she scooped up two ground balls.

"Regan brings a high level of competitiveness on the field and in the classroom, and further aligns with our goals of bringing some of the state's top talent to our program and university!"
