Jacksonville, Fla. – George Mason finished the final day of the NCAA East Regionals in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday. Two Patriots competed in the women's triple jump.
Triple Jump
Senior
Grace Furlong finished 41st, recording 12.25 meters in her triple jump. Earlier in the season, she notched the silver in the A-10 Championship (12.67m) and grabbed third at the Meet of Champions and fourth at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (11.88m, 12.56m).
Junior
Dhiambi Otete was right behind Furlong in today's final results. She finished 42nd after recording a triple jump of 12.24 meters. Earlier in the season, she notched the silver in the A-10 Championship (12.67m) and took third at the Meet of Champions and fourth at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (11.88m, 12.56m).
"Grace and Dhiambi capped off an exceptional season today," said Coach Tim Nickas. "It was Dhiambi's second best competition of her life and Grace finished five spots higher than where she was ranked coming into the meet. They led a very strong group of triple jumpers for us this year and had a tremendous impact on the program."
