Fairfax, Va. -- The George Mason women's tennis team improves to 9-4 on the year with a hard-fought win against the Colgate Raiders today at the George Mason Tennis Complex. The Patriots have won two straight and four out of the past five matches.
"This was a very solid victory against the Raiders," said Head Coach Steve Curtis. "We are making the steady changes necessary for our continued improvement as a team."
Mason swept the doubles matches for the first point of the match.
In singles action, Mason won four straight to earn the 5-2 win.

Taylor Garcia continues her solid first season with Mason, earning a 6-1, 6-4 win against the Raiders Emme Levenson at No. 2 singles. Garcia leads the Patriots with an 8-3 dual season record, 14-7 overall.
Top singles player
Paige La won 6-3, 6-4 against Colgate's Amelia Galin to improve to 11-9 overall.
Jackie Nannery edged the Raider's Natalie Fuller, 7-5, in the first set, but blanked her opponent, 6-0, in the second for the win.
Lauren Splett wrapped up the Patrots scoring with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Eliza Podlas at No. 6 singles.
