ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The George Mason women's lacrosse team fell to the Bonnies on Saturday, 18-6 in another Atlantic 10 matchup on the road.
The Patriots (2-11, 2-5) were led by a hat trick from senior
Shannon Tuozzo, her eighth game this season scoring three or more goals. She also won five draw controls and scooped up a ground ball.
It was a high scoring first quarter, as the two teams traded goals until halfway through the stanza with a Tuozzo goal to cut the Bonnies' lead to one, 3-2. However, St. Bonaventure ended the quarter on a 5-1 run to pull ahead 8-3after the first quarter.
Junior
Kate Elam scored her second of the game to open the second quarter, but another four goal run to end the half stretched the lead to 5-12.
The Bonnies (5-9, 3-4) were able to lock down on defense in the second half, allowing just one Mason goal to provide the final 18-6 tally.
