10 Patriots Named to A-10 All-Rookie Team

FAIRFAX, VA. – 10 Patriots have been named to the A-10's Indoor Track and Field All-Rookie Team, the league announced on Wednesday
 
The All-Rookie teams comprise the top-rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the indoor season through the Atlantic 10 Championships.
 
On the men's side, was Micah Jones, Daniel Adu, Cameron Stearns, Robbie Jenkins, Albert Asare, Aidan Walcott, Colton Ocetnik, and Alexis Martinez-Medina, Megan Baird and Olamide Enajekpo made the women's team.
 
Micah Jones had a great indoor season for the Patriots, winning the 60m dash at the A-10 Championship (6.84) and placing second in the long jump (7.25m). He took gold in the long jump at the VMI Invitational (7.28m).
 
Adu ran the 400m at 48.75 seconds to earn 4th at the A-10's. He was on multiple 4x400m winning teams, including at the A-10's (3:17.47) and the Villanova Invitational (3:15.76).
 
Next, is Cameron Stearns. He ran the mile at 4:14.79 to be awarded 5th place at the Big Apple Invitational. He finished 2nd at the Father Diamond (4:20.52) and 11th at the A-10's (4:22.14).
 
Robbie Jenkins ran his fastest 5k at the Patriot Games in 7th place (14:23.39). He earned 11th at the A-10's (14:43.75).
 
Asare ran the 60m hurdles at a blazing speed of 8.17 seconds at the Villanova Invitational. He won the same event at the Navy Select (8.29) and came in 9th at the A-10's (8.38).
 
Aidan Walcott recorded his best high jump at the Big Apple Invitational at 1.96m (3rd). At the Patriot Games, he won the high jump (1.95m) and placed second in the 200m (22.84).
 
Ocetnik won the A-10's in pole vault at 4.86m. He also won the Big Apple Invitational and the Father Diamond (4.75m, 4.83m). His top mark came at the Crimson elite in 7th (4.97m).
 
Alexis Martinez-Medina posted his best performance at the Father Diamond Invitational, winning the silver in the shot put (12.87m).
 
On the women's side, Megan Baird took the silver in the women's pole vault at 3.67m. She won the Father Diamond at 3.38m and posted her highest vault at the Villanova Invitational in 5th (3.75m).
 
Olamide Enajekpo earned 4th with her best weight throw at the A-10's (18.12m). At the Father Diamond, she posted a second-place finish (14.95m) and won the shot put at 12.49m.
 
 
"We've spoken all year about us having a young team, but to have locked up so many of the All-Rookie slots is just a further testament to the tremendous job so many of our newcomers have done this year," said Coach Gerard. "Our representation spans all event groups and impacted our team in so many positive ways. It's gratifying to see so many on top of the end of the year lists compared to their peers. Bodes well for the future of the program for sure."
