FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's lacrosse team is set to host the Duquesne Dukes on Saturday for a noon opening draw.
The Patriots will be dedicating tomorrow's game to
Morgan's Message. Morgan's Message was established in 2019 to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical AND mental health in athletes. The non-profit aims to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.
The team will once again have bins around George Mason stadium for a lacrosse equipment collection, which will all be donated to WINNERS Lacrosse.
The programs will meet for the eighth time, with all seven previous meeting coming as members of the Atlantic 10 conference. The Dukes hold a slight 4-3 advantage, but Mason has won three of the last four.
Both teams dropped their respective midweek match-ups with Atlantic 10 foes. Duquesne dropped a tight one-goal game to St. Bonaventure, 16-15, while Mason fell on the road to Richmond, 20-7.

- Tuozzo ranks first on the team with 23 goals, averaging 2.56 per game (5th, A-10), and 31 draw controls
- Senior Chloe Reed scored a career-high four goals against Richmond on Wednesday night and is second on the team with 14 goals and 18 points.
- Defensively, Ciara Curtis leads the Patriots with 12 ground balls and is second on the team with five caused turnovers. Melanie Hutchinson leads Mason with nine caused turnovers.
- Senior Meghan Deehan tallied double-digit saves for the third time this season with 12 against Richmond. She has also tallied eight ground balls and four caused turnovers this season
SCOUTING THE DUKES
On the attacking end, Duquesne is led by Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw, the reigning A-10 Rookie of the Year, who has netted a team-high 32 goals and 37 points. She has netted a hat-trick in all but two contests this season and has matched her career-high of six goals twice. She is also second on the team with 29 draw controls.
Mackenzie Leszczynski is first on the team with seven assists and 45 draw controls and second with 25 goals and 32 points. Defensively, Hanna Pawela leads the Dukes with 20 caused turnovers and is second with 25 ground balls. In net, Mady Piersielak has started all but one game and averages over nine saves per game with a .407 save percentage.

The Patriots will travel to the nation's capital next Saturday, April 1, for the Revolutionary Rivalry game against George Washington. Opening draw with the Colonials is set for 1 p.m.
