Hilton Head, S.C.-- The George Mason women's tennis team won it's third match at the four-match PTR Springfest held this week in Hilton Head, S.C. The Patriots edged Saint Francis (PA), 4-3 to wrap up a strong showing by the Patriots during the spring break week.
The doubles matches were completed on Sunday before the dual was moved to Friday because of the weather. Mason won the doubles point on Sunday.
In a match that featured four singles tiebreaker sets, Mason would win three of the four to win the match.
Saint Francis (PA) won the first two completed matches today at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to take a lead, 2-1.
In the first of the three wins in the tiebreaker sets for the Patriots, grad student 
Taylor Garcia tied the score with a win at No. 2 singles against Dominique Yeo, 7--6, 4-6, 10-8. Garcia improves to 12-6 on the season, 7-2 in dual action from the top two singles positions.
In the see-saw battle, the Flash won the next match at No. 4 singles before sophomore 
Lauren Splett won in a tiebreaker set against Nagisa Miyake, 6-0, 2-6, 10-4, to tie the match.
For the second straight match, 
Ashley Fitz-Patrick won the match-clinching point with a victory at No. 5 singles against St. Franics' Marie Discini. Fitz-Patrick notched her 10th win of the season.
