PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The George Mason women's lacrosse team dropped their first Atlantic 10 match-up of the season to reigning conference champions Saint Joseph's, 19-0, on Saturday.

Kate Elam mustered five shots, but a strong defensive stance by the Hawks (2-5, 1-0) held Mason scoreless.
After Saint Joseph's took an 11-0 lead into half time, the Patriots (0-7, 0-1) created their most opportunities on offense of the game, taking eight shots in the third quarter. Mason also limited SJU to just three goals in the third.
The Patriots were able to draw three free position opportunities in the fourth quarter, but could not convert and the Hawks scored five more to provide the final tally.
