Aryan Vuradi leads the field of 108 golfers at the Loyola Intercollegiate hosted by Loyola Maryland in Arizona.
The freshman carded a season-best four-under-par 68 at the par 72, 7,015-yard North/South Course at the Palm Valley Golf Club. He is tied with SIEU's Brady Kaufman going into the second round of the 54-hole tournament. He notched five pars and scored and eagle on the par-5 525-yard 15th hole, averaging minus-4 on the par 5s.
The Patriots are tied for fifth place with Marshal with a 292 team score (+4), just one stroke out of third place in the 19-team tournament. Marquette is atop the leaderboard with a one-under par 287.
Mason's
Colin Slater scored a one-over par 73 to stand t-26. The junior had a consistent round with 14 pars and carded an eagle on the par-5 11th hole.
