GENEVA, Ohio – The George Mason women's and men's swimming and diving teams completed the second day of competition at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships on Thursday, held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The Mason men's team is third with 178 points and the Patriots' women's team is fifth with 149 points.

On the women's side, the George Washington Colonials have the lead with 287 points, with Richmond second (192) and Fordham third (155). Duquesne is fourth (150) followed by George Mason (149), Davidson (109), Massachusetts (108), La Salle (107), St. Bonaventure (82), Saint Louis (66) and Rhode Island (43).

Sophomore
Ali Tyler won the A-10 title in the 50-yard freestyle, claiming the gold medal for the second straight year (22.77).

In the consolation final of the event, freshman
Peyton Brehmer finished third (23.26).

Graduate student
Jacquee Clabeaux won the silver medal with a second place finish in the championship final of the 200-yard IM (1:59.63). She placed fourth in the event at last year's championship.

In the consolation final of the event, sophomore
Emma DeJong placed third (2:03.26), while classmate
Anka Whelan finished seventh (2:04.77).

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the combination of graduate student
Madison Nalls, Tyler, Clabeaux and Brehmer took the silver with a second-place finish (1:31.63).

On the men's side, the George Washington Colonials have the lead with 295 points, with Massachusetts second (192) and George Mason third (178). Davidson is fourth (163) followed by St. Bonaventure (157), Fordham (150), La Salle (127) and Saint Louis (52).

Freshman
Tate Anderson took the bronze in the championship final of the 200-yard IM (1:47.01). In the consolation final of the event, senior
Thomas Chapman touched the wall second (1:48.83) and junior
Anthony Nguyen was a second behind in third (1:48.84).

In the 50-yard freestyle, sophomore
Zane Roberts just missed the podium with a fourth-place finish (20.15), while senior
Josh Fletcher placed eighth in the event (20.49).

In the consolation final of the event, sophomore
Alexander Franklin finished third (20.44) and freshman
Joshua Hochard was fifth (20.72).

The Patriots set a new program record in the 200-yard freestyle relay for the second straight year, with the team of senior
Sammy Lucht, Roberts, Alexander and Fletcher claiming the silver medal with a time of 1:19.27.Â

At last year's A-10 the combination of
Will Rastatter, Roberts, Franklin and Fletcher set the mark with a time of 1:19.51.

Junior
Ian Castegnaro placed third in the consolation final of the one-meter diving event (240.80 points).

The Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships continue on Friday, with the preliminaries scheduled for 10 a.m. and the finals at 6 p.m.
