Annapolis, Md. -- The Navy women's tennis team defeated Mason (3-1) at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis, Md. today.
Navy broke the Patriots three-match win streak to begin the season. Navy improved to 6-2 with the 7-0 win.
"We did some very good things today but Navy is a very strong well coached program that takes advantage of opponents weaknesses," said Head Coach Steve Curtis. This match is a good gauge of where we are as a team and where we still need to improve."
Sophomore
Lauren Splett lost the first set against Navy's Kate Lee at No. 6 singles, but bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second. Lee won the match in the tiebreaker set, 10-7.
Mason is back on the court on Saturday night, Feb. 18 against Mount St. Mary's at Burke Racquet and Swim Club.
