Fairfax, Va.— In a match that wasn't decided until the final dual, Lock Haven prevailed against the George Mason (11-7, 2-3) wrestling team, 24-15 in the final home match of the season.

Prior to the match Mason celebrated its seniors; Peter Pappas, Josh Jones, Jeremy Seymour, and Kalob Jewett.

The match began at 165 pounds as Lock Haven's Avery Bassett earned the first win of the match edging Drew Dickson. They each earned a point on an escape to start the second and third periods. Bassett got the takedown early in the third and an escape by Dickson with 30 seconds was the final points in the 3-2 decision.

Sophomore Logan Messer won his 50th career match for the Patriots, his 23rd this season with a decision against the Bald Eagles Tyler Stolzfus at 174. Messer (23-5) led 5-1 after the first period and 6-3 after the second. Messer dominated the third period with three takedowns.

Sophomore Malachi Duvall pinned Lock Haven's Colin Fegley in the first period (1:13), his sixth fall of the season. Mason went up 9-3.

Jon List (18-16) would increase Mason's lead to 12-3 with a 5-4 decision against the Bald Eagles Brad Morrison.

The next three matches featured nationally ranked wrestlers from Lock Haven, winning all three to go up 17-12.

Anthony Glasl got the Patriots back on the board and within two points, 15-17, with 3-1 sudden victory decision at 141 against Zack Zeamer. Tie at 1-1, Glasl earned a quick takedown (1:49) in sudden victory period to earn his 15th win of the season.

Ranked second in the MAC Eyler earned a decision in the final match against the Patriots Peter Pappas, 6-3.
