Baltimore Orioles General Manager Mike Elias Headlines First Pitch Dinner

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason Athletics will host its annual First Pitch Dinner on February 2, featuring MLB Executive of the Year Mike Elias, vice president and general manager of the Baltimore Orioles.
 
The event will be held Feb. 2 at Dewberry Hall on the campus of George Mason University beginning at 5 p.m.
 
"George Mason is incredibly fortunate to be part of a community rich in remarkable baseball talent past, present and future," Mason head coach Shawn Camp said.  "Mike Elias perfectly represents the long-standing tradition of baseball community excellence in the Northern Virginia and National Capitol Region, and I consider it an honor and privilege to host Mike as our guest of honor and keynote speaker for the 2024 First Pitch Dinner." 
 
Elias was named the MLB Executive of the Year, voted on by all 30 MLB clubs and he was also selected Sporting News MLB Executive of the Year by American League and National League executives.
 
Elias concluded his 17th season in Major League Baseball and his sixth season as general manager of Orioles.  He was hired by Baltimore on Nov. 16, 2018.
 
In 2023, the Orioles recorded 101 wins to claim the American League East Division title and were one of just three teams in Major League Baseball to win 100 or more games.
 
Last season marked the sixth time in franchise history and the first time since the 1980 season the Orioles reached 100 wins. 
 
Prior to joining the Orioles, Elias spent two seasons as the assistant general manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.  He was also a special assist to the general manager and scouting director with the Houston Astros from 2012-2016.
 
Elias began his major league career as a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2007.
 
An Alexandria, Va. native, Elias graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Yale University, where his was a pitcher for the Bulldogs.

Social Hour sponsor can be purchased for $2,000 and includes six tickets, entry to a reception with Mike Elias, silent auction, dinner, seating with two members of the 2024 Mason baseball team and names listed in the event program.

Table sponsorship is available for $1,500 and includes six tickets, entry to social hour, silent auction, dinner, seating with two members of the 2024 Mason baseball team and names listed in the event program.

General individual tickets can be purchased for $200, Baseball Alumni for $150 and Young Alumni (undergraduate degree holders of the last five years) for $125 and the cost for youth 12 and under is $75.  Meet and greet with Mike Elias can be purchased for $100 per person. 

The MVP reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by the social hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m.
