Fairfax- Men's and Women's cross country will be competing in the IC4A/ECAC Championships tomorrow, October 13th. It will be held at Van Cortlandt Park, NYC and the courses will be similar to the course that is used for the NCAA D1 Northeast Regional Championships for both men's and women's cross country. 

The Open Men's 8k and the Open Women's 6k will begin at 10 a.m. Right after at 10:45 a.m. will be the start of the Men's 8k IC4A Championship Race and then at 11:30 a.m., the Women's 6k ECAC Championship race will begin.

Last year's participation ended with the Women's cross country team achieving their best finish in the ECAC Championship earning the 6th spot out of 34 teams. Kate O' Neill finished 23rd during that time and will be looking to achieve a higher finish as she makes a return to this years ECAC Championship. Mason Men's cross country placed 8th out of 32 teams, Wesley Bond last year finished 15th overall and was 2nd from George Mason. Nick Emmert and Charlie Blundell were part of the first 5 to score for George Mason and they will also be making a return to this year's IC4A Championship. 

"We're going to treat this as exactly what it is - our first championship meet of this season," said Coach Gerard. "The ECAC/IC4A Championship has always featured quality competition and we expect nothing else this year. We want to work on correcting a couple of items that the Paul Short race showed we could do better and this will be a perfect lead in to the A-10 in a couple of weeks.

This is the last race to prepare before the A-10 Championship which is on October 28th at Cedarville University, Ohio.
