Fairfax, Va.— Clarion began the match with five straight wins en route to a 25-12 dual victory against George Mason (8-3, 0-1) tonight in Tippin Gymnasium.

Three Patriots earned win's tonight, Markel Baker (125), Josh Jones (133), and Loranzo Rajaonarivelo (157).
 
The match began at 165 pounds as the hosts won the first three matches by two points or less. Clarion's Cam Pine narrowly edged Mason's Drew Dickson, 8-6, putting the first points on the board. At 174, the Golden Eagles John Worthing edged Logan Messer, 6-5, denying Messer of his 20th win. Will Feldkamp edged the Patriots Tyler Kocak, 4-3 at 184 pounds.

The Golden Eagles (7-3, 4-1) put Mason in a 16-0 hole before freshman Markel Baker scored the Patriots first points. Baker continues his impressive rookie campaign, picking up his 18th win of the season tonight, the second-most on the team. 

Jones followed up with a pin (5:00) against Mason Prinkey to cut into Clarion's 16-9 lead, but the Golden Eagles responded with two straight wins.

Loranzo Rajaonarivelo earned a decision against Clarion's Trevor Elfvin, 12-5 at 157 pounds for the final Mason points.
 
The Patriots will travel up the road to battle Edinboro on Saturday at 7 p.m. Mason won last year's match-up, 22-12 and have won three of the last four dual with the Fighting Scots.
